Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance!
Use this page as a checklist to guide you through your next steps as an accepted student.

   
Confirm your attendance
  Return the enrollment confirmation card with your $200 deposit ($50 for off campus students). Part-time and EOP deposits are waived. Make an online deposit by using FACTs secure website.

NOTE: You will not be charged the $1 enrollment fee referenced on the website.
   
Submit Residency Application and select your meal plan
  Follow the instructions on the Residential Life webpage to complete your Residency Application. For more information on meal plan options, review our meal plan descriptions.    
   
Apply for Financial Aid
  If you have not already done so, it is important that you file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon as possible. To file your FAFSA, go to fafsa.gov. For additional information please go to SUNYIT Financial Aid. If requested, please return documents (tax forms, verification worksheet, etc.) in a timely manner.

SUNYIT offers scholarships primarily for academic merit, however, some awards are needs based and determined by factors including, student’s hometown, intended degree program, extracurricular activities, and supplemental information. Register for Accepted Student Day (fall enrollment, freshmen only)
  Join other accepted students to learn more about campus life, hear from current students, talk to faculty, and more. Register Now! 
   
Attend New Student Orientation
  New, accepted students are required to attend Orientation. Orientation materials will be mailed to you. 

Orientation dates for students enrolling in the fall will be announced in early spring.

Submit Final Documentation
  Request that your guidance office or college Registrar submit your final transcript(s) with proof of your graduation (entering freshmen: typically available from your high school in early July).

All entering students are required to submit proof of high school graduation or a general equivalency diploma (GED). Transfer students who have earned an A.A., A.A.S., or A.S. degree prior to enrolling can satisfy this requirement with their official degree-bearing college transcript.

Mandatory Health Requirements
  The Health & Wellness Center will send you information about health requirements to all deposited students. These forms must be completed and returned to the Health & Wellness Center prior to the start of the semester.
