Assist the Alumni & Advancement Services Officer and other staff members as assigned in daily tasks pertaining to Alumni Affairs and Development operations, which may include but is not limited to: (a) special events planning, promotions, and execution, (b) data entry and spreadsheet work, (c) social networking applications for Institutional Advancement, (d) secondary research using online and other sources. Student assistant may

work on a variety of projects in a number of areas or may be assigned a certain area of concentration depending on office needs or the student employee's skill, experience, or expertise. Other duties include assisting with mailings, note-taking,photocopying, faxing, and other general office or meeting support. Must work well with people and be dependable, confidential, and professional. Word, Excel and Banner experience a plus.

 
 
Job Title:Research Lab Assistant

Assist in faculty research by developing the laboratory environment, currently part of the BITS regional network with Corning Community College and SUNY Geneseo. Install and configure Unix systems and support changing requirements for research.

Skills: Linux, Unix, C programming, basic hardware support and networking.

Provide quality hardware and software support with a high degree of customer service skills, technical expertise, and timely resolutions of end user problems. Install operating systems and supported software. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems to ensure user productivity. Check and stock computer labs with supplies. Research, resolve, and respond to questions received via telephone calls, tracking system, and E-mail in a timely manner, in accordance with current standards. Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant products and support policies in order to provide technically accurate solutions to users. Participate in team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of help-desk service. Assist in special product-related issues as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a two-year technical degree or the equivalent in work experience and one to two years of prior related work experience.The candidate will have an aptitude for providing positive customer service and good communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills.

The web design assistant will work with the web team to develop and edit the official SUNYIT website. The potential member of our web team should have good design skills (web and graphic design), and be familiar with html (Dreamweaver) and Photoshop. Knowledge of Flash and CSS is an added bonus. Receives complaints from public concerning crimes, police emergencies, and calls for service; relays and records police and fire alarms, intradepartmental calls and emergency calls; broadcasts orders to police patrol units to investigate complaints or incidents and relays instructions and/or questions; prepares and maintains a variety of logs, records and reports of all incoming and outgoing communications; utilizes several computer systems to assist and maintain the safety of the college community. Monitors CCTV?s for suspicious activity; operates the College switchboard.

Work as a tutor with local Elementary Schools/Local Libraries. Assist elementary school children with reading and/or mathematics. Flexibility in location of Elementary School/Local Library. You choose the location, or one can be chosen for you. Excellent communication skills, pleasant personality and friendly disposition required. Professionalism and dependability is a must. Transportation to job location is the responsibility of Tutor.
