Orange County to Expand Groundwater Replenishment System
A project to expand Groundwater Replenishment System seems to be getting alot of attention as it already has garnered more that 20 awards. The American Society of Civil Engineers 2009 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award was given to the facility. California always seems to be leading the way in new advance technologies in sustainablily. The project is the worlds largest advanced water purification facility of its kind. But the best part of this new facility I believe is the sustainability of it. It reduces greenhouse gases in comparison to importing water at a cost of 156.2 million dollars. I think that although this is a staggering amount, the more of these projects that we undertake, the cheaper it will be in the future.
