Children Must be Taught Not Only What’s Wrong, but What’s Right, Say Researchers

This article discusses the importance of teaching morals and ethics to children.  Most states have adopted legislation requiring schools to teach an "anti-bullying" curriculum.  Some psychologists feel that these laws are not enough, that school districts will just purchase the curriculums in order to comply with the legislation.  The psychologists state that while the anti-bullying laws are a step in the right direction, the best way to combat the issue is for the teachers to incorporate this into an essential part of the everyday curriculum.  They believe if made as important as other essential subjects, the children can learn at a young age how to treat others with respect and kindness.
