Hospital Fire Sparks Outrage in India.

There is a debate right now in India due to the moral obligations of healthcare executives, when a fire in Kolkata killed 91 people.  There are reports that 6 hospital managers have been arrested for negligence because many bedridden patients were abandoned during the fire.  There are also reports that the fire department was not immediately called!  Right now the hospitals licenses have been removed and the investigation is still on going.  This does beg the question to many people “What will happen to me?”  It is usually assumed that the U.S. has better fire codes and higher standers for public safety, so there is a smaller percent of this happening in the U.S.  But the best way to put people’s minds at ease it to make sure that the public facilities are continually inspected and that there are emergency plans are in place for all facilities.
