Kin of U.S. Congress Members Receive Millions from Campaign Contributions, Claims Watchdog Group
A watchdog group of Washington called CREW report that members of Congress have been using donations to help benefit their family members. A 347 page report by CREW claimed that over $5 million was used by 82 members of congress to send family members on vactions, pay for babysitters, and for high paying salaries for family members. The executive director Melanie Sloan say while most of these actions are legal they are not helping the fact that members of congress are seen as caring more about themselves than the public.
