New DNA testing frees convicted Colorado rapist, killer
Robert Dewey was imprisoned with a life-sentence by a Colorado judge after being "found guilty" of raping and murdering Jacie Taylor, a 19 year old from Palisade, CO. He has been in prison since 1996 and has always maintained his innocence despite public opinion. Amazingly, it was known at his trial that the semen samples were tested and were not his. Recently a DNA test was conducted on bloodstains found on his shirt which concluded that the blood was not of the victim Jacie. My question is this: How can a court convict a man to life in prison with both sets of evidence either unsubstantiated or proven false? Where did the "innocent until proven guilty" part of the code of ethics go? This has obviously been a gross miscarriage of justice...
