Chinese Communist Corruption

As China prepares for their once-in-a-decade transition of power, there continues to be a concern about corruption.  Chinese president Hu Jintao opened the Communist Party congress with a statement involving the failure of addressing issues in the government. He identified that the failure could "prove fatal to the party", according to BBC reports. Hu's comment is one that stands out in a controversy that has  severely impacted the Communist Party this year.  Among the tension is a  controversy involving a former top politician names Bo Xilai for corruption, abuse of power, and improper sexual relationships. Official news reports said that Bo made "severe mistakes" related to the killing of a British businessman - a crime for which Bo's wife was imprisoned -and a diplomatic incident involving his former police chief in Chongqing.
