FAQs



What are the Bursar's office hours?

Our normal business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Summer hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to noon.


When is my bill due?

The payment due date for spring 2010 is Wednesday, December 30. Course registrations and/or housing assignments are not guaranteed if payment or valid deferral is not received by the payment due date.


Why do I have a credit balance on my bill?

A credit balance is the result of your aid/payments exceeding your tuition/fee charges. You do not need to submit payment. If you have a zero/negative balance you can confirm your charges online.


When do classes start?

Classes begin on Tuesday, January 19.


When can I get my books?

The bookstore is open late the first week of the semester to accommodate evening students.


When will my student loan refund check be ready?

Current students - IF your paperwork is in order with the Financial Aid Office, and you have confirmed your charges and authorized your financial aid, by December 30, you may have a check ready on Wednesday, January 20. A postcard will be mailed to you when your check is available for pickup.

New students - IF your paperwork is in order with the Financial Aid Office, and you have confirmed your charges by December 30, you may have a check ready on Tuesday, February 23. A postcard will be mailed to you when your check is available for pickup.


When will the dorms be open?

Residential Halls will be open at 9 a.m. on Sunday, January 17.

When is the last day to submit my Medical Insurance Waiver?

Waivers must be submitted on the Web prior to attendance. You must submit a waiver each semester. International Health Insurance cannot be waived.

When can I get my parking decal?

You must go to the University Police Office to pick up your decal and affix it to your vehicle. This must be done each semester. Parking fees are automatically assessed to your account each semester. If you do not need parking, please complete a Parking Waiver Request form (pdf).


When will refunds from my other aid be ready?

Many factors affect when your aid will be processed. The following timeline is a general rule and should not be viewed as a definite time that yours will be ready. Private scholarships are ready by the first day of classes, if we have received the funds. Pell, Perkins, FNLP, SEOG, and College Foundation scholarships are processed around the sixth week of the semester. TAP is generally not processed before the midpoint of the semester.
