2015 will be the sixth annual New York State Business Plan Competition (NYBPC). It is a statewide collegiate student business competition representing more than 75 colleges and universities. Through 2014, more than $1,300,000 in cash and in-kind services have been awarded to New York’s collegiate entrepreneurs!

MAN2We are very proud to be hosting the third annual Mohawk Valley Regional Qualifier at SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Friday, April 10. Students from colleges and universities in the six county Mohawk Valley region as well as some outlying counties have been invited to participate in a, “Shark Tank” style pitch competition. Teams of up to six students present a ten minute pitch to a panel of investors/judges. Regional winners receive cash prizes and a chance to compete at the state competition in Albany on April 24.

MAN1Seven teams from our qualifier went on to compete in Albany last year. Gregory Wilhelm, from SUNY Cobleskill won third prize in the Products/Services category at the State Competition for his business, “Royal Meadery”.  Sam Matlick, from Hamilton College, secured the People’s Choice award for his business idea, SellYourTech. Both students came back from the State competition with prize money and valuable, business contacts!
