Integrating the Virtual World:
Creating an Intersection with the Virtual and Real to Enhance Learning

The goal of this one-day conference is to address a variety of topics related to the virtual world in higher education, including:
- How the virtual world fits into the future of higher education
- How simulated problem-solving activities can enhance student learning
- The effort to create simulated environments to help facilitate learning
- How to integrate the virtual world into current pedagogical approaches
Conference highlights:
Keynote Speaker: Bret Ingerman: “The Evolution of the Internet: Using ‘Virtual Worlds’ to Enhance Teaching, Learning, and Scholarly Research.”
A number of sessions will follow, including:
- Larry Dugan and Terry Keys: SUNY in Second Life Hands-on Workshop
- Dr. Andrew Phelps: The Multi-user Programming Pedagogy for Enhancing Traditional Study (M.U.P.P.E.T.S.) at RIT.
- Birds of a feather round table discussion or hands-on in a virtual environment
Registration closes March 20, but registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
